Sugar 2000-2009

Today was a really sad day. We had to put to sleep one of my mom’s dogs. Sugar was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2008. The doctor wasn’t sure if she was going to last a week or a couple of years. Sugar was a fighter and she made it almost ten months. Over the past year Sugar has been having really bad seizers. Over the last month they have steadily been increasing, and her medication was no longer helping. In the past 24 hours Sugar had suffered through eight seizers and it was taking her longer and longer to come out of them. So, as difficult as it was, my mom came to the decision that we couldn't let her suffer any longer - we took her to the vet this morning. Sugar was a great dog, she was always the ring leader and she loved her sister, Spice, more than anything; she was always mothering her. The two of them were a tag team, wherever Sugar was you could always find Spice. Sugar also acted like a mother to my dog, Lola. Lola always loved to get her daily cleanings from Sugar (Lola would regularly look like she just dunked her head in a water bowl!). It is so funny how we let our pets into are hearts, and they really become one of the family. Sugar was my mothers shadow and is truly going to be missed.

Snowboarding

It has been another fun season up snowboarding. Every year we take the nieces and nephews up to Brighton and teach them to snowboard. We have been taking Auston and Gage for about six years now. They have gotten really good. The other kids we try to take up once or twice a year. Here are some pics of Alexis and Tyrone snowboarding, we had a lot of fun hanging out with them on the slopes.

My Uncle Kirby's Accident

So my Uncle Kirby was in a really bad car accident on Thursday, January 15. Kirby is my dad's oldest brother. He had to be life flighted from the accident. He suffered 8 broken ribs, a head injury, a punctured lung, and a broken back. His back injury is so bad that it severed his spinal cord and and he is going to be paralyzed from his chest down. His children put together a blog to keep everyone updated. I have added it to my friends and family list. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. http://welovekirby.blogspot.com/

"Lady Gaga" more like "Lady KT"

So I was at a family party last week when Greg's cousin showed me Lady Gaga's album and said that she thought it looked like me. I laughed and then I looked at it, and I was surprised on how much are profiles look alike. I don't think we look that much a like from the front but from the side it's kind of shocking. I thought it was funny.

Happy Holidays 2008

So it was another wonderful Christmas season, full of Christmas parties and being with the family. We had a really fun Christmas. It started off on Christmas Eve at Greg’s aunt and uncle’s house with a visit from Santa. Then we headed over to my mom and dad’s to hang with my family and open our annual Christmas pajamas. On Christmas morning Greg and I always take our presents down to my parent’s house and open gifts with my family, I couldn’t imagine it any other way. I got Greg a bunch of clothes and a tool box for Christmas. Greg got me clothes (of course) and a Kitchen Aid mixer, I have wanted one of these forever. KT’S Cookies can now be taken to a whole new level ha ha ha.

My Mom and Dad's house on Christmas morning.

I made monkey bread for the family on Christmas morning. Everyone liked it so much that I think I will make it every Christmas.

My gag gift from my parent's. If anyone read my post on the dangers of doing laundry. Then you should get a good laugh out of the safety goggles.

Greg and I sitting on Santa's lap!

The newest addition to the Miller family. Our nephew Wyatt sitting on Santa's lap. Greg calls Wyatt "the Cowboy".

The Cheney Family Christmas party!

Going to see Christmas lights with the whole family. There were thirteen of us so we decided to take the fifteen passenger van.

The Grand Tradition

About Five years ago my brother Josh took all of the family to The Grand America's Sunday Brunch for his Christmas present. He was quoted the wrong price over the phone and thought it was cheaper then it really was. Lets just say that the bill was double what he was expecting. So my Dad ended up paying for the other half of it. Ever since then we have made it a tradition to go to the Sunday Brunch right before Christmas with all of the family; except now we all pay for ourselves. It is always so much fun and we always eat too much. Thanks Josh for starting such a fun family tradition and no we will never stop teasing you about it.
