We had to put to sleep one of my mom’s dogs. Sugar was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2008. The doctor wasn’t sure if she was going to last a week or a couple of years. Sugar was a fighter and she made it almost ten months. Over the past year Sugar has been having really bad seizers. Over the last month they have steadily been increasing, and her medication was no longer helping. In the past 24 hours Sugar had suffered through eight seizers and it was taking her longer and longer to come out of them. So, as difficult as it was, my mom came to the decision that we couldn't let her suffer any longer - we took her to the vet this morning. Sugar was a great dog, she was always the ring leader and she loved her sister, Spice, more than anything; she was always mothering her. The two of them were a tag team, wherever Sugar was you could always find Spice. Sugar also acted like a mother to my dog, Lola. Lola always loved to get her daily cleanings from Sugar (Lola would regularly look like she just dunked her head in a water bowl!). It is so funny how we let our pets into are hearts, and they really become one of the family. Sugar was my mothers shadow and is truly going to be missed.

Snowboarding

It has been another fun season up snowboarding. Every year we take the nieces and nephews up to Brighton and teach them to snowboard. We have been taking Auston and Gage for about six years now. They have gotten really good. The other kids we try to take up once or twice a year. Here are some pics of Alexis and Tyrone snowboarding, we had a lot of fun hanging out with them on the slopes.
<img style="display:block; Kirby is my dad's oldest brother. He had to be life flighted from the accident. He suffered 8 broken ribs, a head injury, a punctured lung, and a broken back. His back injury is so bad that it severed his spinal cord and and he is going to be paralyzed from his chest down. His children put together a blog to keep everyone updated. I have added it to my friends and family list. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. http://welovekirby.blogspot.com/

"Lady Gaga" more like "Lady KT"

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SW1e2QrDgMI/AAAAAAAAAKI/7AFAfWUR1m0/s200/lady+gaga.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290989423511699650" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SW1fF9oY7lI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/1Ox6g8Antfc/s200/lady+gaga1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5290989693278154322" />
So I was at a family party last week when Greg's cousin showed me Lady Gaga's album and said that she thought it looked like me. We had a really fun Christmas. It started off on Christmas Eve at Greg’s aunt and uncle’s house with a visit from Santa. Then we headed over to my mom and dad’s to hang with my family and open our annual Christmas pajamas. On Christmas morning Greg and I always take our presents down to my parent’s house and open gifts with my family, I couldn’t imagine it any other way. I got Greg a bunch of clothes and a tool box for Christmas. Greg got me clothes (of course) and a Kitchen Aid mixer, I have wanted one of these forever. KT’S Cookies can now be taken to a whole new level ha ha ha.

My Mom and Dad's house on Christmas morning.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SWBiaUXypwI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/YOvNqY47ycY/s200/2008_12250131.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287334166817580802" />

I made monkey bread for the family on Christmas morning. He was quoted the wrong price over the phone and thought it was cheaper then it really was. Lets just say that the bill was double what he was expecting. So my Dad ended up paying for the other half of it. Ever since then we have made it a tradition to go to the Sunday Brunch right before Christmas with all of the family; except now we all pay for ourselves. It is always so much fun and we always eat too much. Thanks Josh for starting such a fun family tradition and no we will never stop teasing you about it.

Say Cheese

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SUX0rVnBLbI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/Ej9svnkyRi0/s200/2008_12_14+144.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279895163534126514" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SUX0q9DGexI/AAAAAAAAAII/hXainEHFSg4/s200/2008_12_14+143.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279895156941028114" />
It's that wonderful time of year again to take the babies to go see Santa. Every year we take our animals to go see Santa and get a picture. My mom took her two dogs Sugar and Spice. You pay ten dollars and Petsmart takes a picture of your animals with Santa and puts it in a cute frame. They donate the money to No More Homeless pets. This was Brighton's third year getting pictures with Santa and Lola's first. Everyone including Santa thought we were crazy for putting the cat and dog together to get there picture taken. Nobody ever believes us when we say they are friends. Lola loves Brighton to death.

Go Utes!!!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SUXwbpL0hMI/AAAAAAAAAHw/EE18A60-aAo/s200/2008_12_14+136.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279890495864341698" />
This year we got season tickets to the Utes football games. This year my parents threw a Halloween party and the theme was Young Frankenstein. If you know my family Young Frankenstein is one of our favorite movies. Every Halloween we watch it, and my whole family quotes the movie. I dressed up as a witch and Greg went as a Lehman Brothers executive(going to jail). My parents went as Frankenstein and the bride of Frankenstein. I was in charge of every ones make-up, I think I did like ten people's make-up that night. The party was really fun and I can't wait until the next one!!

Another Year Older

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 174px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SUXztE_mpXI/AAAAAAAAAIA/H28OfPAP_lc/s200/cartoon.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5279894093921953138" />
So I had my birthday and I am now 27 yeahhhhhhh!!!! It is a documentary about a singing group of old people, but instead of singing classical music they sing songs from the Ramone’s, Cold Play, Bruce Springsteen, and Sonic Youth just to name a few. These are some amazing people! I laughed and cried and got a warm feeling that made me feel like a kid again. The goodness and sincerity absolutely radiates from their hearts and out with their voices!! I really liked Dora; I could only hope to have as much spunk when I am her age. Len is another one that made me laugh. Out of his three friends he is the only one who can still drive. So he drives the carpool to music practice he is like 86 years old. This is a must see!!!!!

Happy Birthday

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SReuVOdhN5I/AAAAAAAAAHQ/pcH4UoSrSrg/s320/DSCF0237.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266869968915478418" />
So it's official Greg is getting old. I almost lost an eye. I was filling up the washer and leaned over to fill the cup with the liquid detergent. When the cup slipped out of my hand and landed on the floor. I was leaning over the cup when I dropped it, so when it hit the floor it splashed up and went all over my face with the majority of it landing in my left eye. It burned like you couldn’t imagine. So I ran to the sink and started washing it off my face and trying to get it out of my eye. At first the water didn’t do much it only made it hurt worse. While all of this was going on I also had cookies in the oven baking-again, like the good housewife I am. The oven timer started going off, so with my eye on fire I ran in to the kitchen and pull the cookies out (because no matter what, you can’t let cookies burn!). Now I’m starting to freak out a little and decide I should read the laundry detergent bottle and see what it says to do. With the good eye, I was able to read… “flush eye with water for 10 to 15 minutes.” Now it is burning so bad that I am crying. So I start to flush my eye out again. It was so painful to stick my eye under the water I really had to go to my happy place to keep my head under the water. After I flushed it my eye was swollen, bright red, and still burning so I called the one person who always makes me feel better, my mom. She decided to come over incase she needed to take me to the doctor; and also because she couldn’t stand to hear me cry on the phone. So I flushed my eye a few more times and it started to feel a little better. When I called Greg to tell him what happened he laughed at first (because only I could manage to do something like this), and then he was worried. Who new that doing your laundry could be so dangerous. My eye is still irritated and a little red but it is feeling much better. My brothers joked that maybe I should wear safety glasses when I do the laundry. Ha ha ha so funny.

When you need a little extra!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SPTlXQd5SbI/AAAAAAAAAGc/1LyT1U_mlek/s320/pic07612.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257078852768319922" />

Have you got yours yet?

Last Sunday we went and picked out our Christmas tree. Yes, you didn’t read it wrong I said Christmas tree. Ever since I was little we have been going to this Tree farm in Alpine, Utah. We go in September and tag our Christmas tree. Then we go back and pick it up the day after Thanksgiving. It is always so fun to go and get the tree. The workers cut it down for you and bring it to your truck. It’s the perfect start to the Holiday season. There is only 83 Days, 9 Hours, and 57 Minutes until Christmas. Just thought you might want to know.

All the fam
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SOU97Jfr7kI/AAAAAAAAAGE/hxVc6Hlis48/s320/DSCN2233.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252672626767949378" />
Our Christmas tree
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SOU97bF9fnI/AAAAAAAAAGM/rUQ649OKcFg/s320/DSCN2216.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252672631491886706" />
The Christmas tree farm
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SOU97t_5tRI/AAAAAAAAAGU/OhLBGr28S-M/s320/DSCN2237.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5252672636566746386" />

Scraptastic!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SN0iU6w1dWI/AAAAAAAAAFM/CkJeYnLz0vw/s320/logo_home.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5250390483350680930" />
Well we had another fun time at the annual Scrapbook USA. So, three years ago my mom kind of forced me into going to the scrapbook expo with her. I was really not interested at the time, but I went anyways. The first year I went I couldn’t believe how much stuff some of these women bring with them to scrapbook, we are talking about four to five bags for one person - I thought it was crazy. Then it happened, I was taken to the dark side and I suddenly felt the urge to buy: scrapbooks, sticks, markers, stamps…… you name it I wanted it. Now fast forward to three years later and I am the crazy one carrying three bags of stuff with me into the expo. I guess that's what I get for making fun of everyone else. Now I can’t wait for it to come in September and April. My mom, Ann, Shannon, and I have made it one of our favorite days of the year; we are always looking forward to going. We missed Shannon this time, she had to work. But hopefully in April she will be able to come again. So the countdown begins only seven more months to go until next time!

Seven Years and No Itch!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SNMq-q5Tf6I/AAAAAAAAAFE/tJXFjfgX8_0/s320/DSCF0021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5247585246971658146" />
Last weekend Greg and I celebrated our seven year anniversary! I can’t believe we have been married this long, the time has flown by. To celebrate, we decided to stay downtown SLC. Anyone who knows me knows I love hanging out in the city. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco. It’s a really cute hotel and I would definitely stay there again. We started the weekend off on Saturday; we went to the AST Dew Tour. It was awesome, I love extreme sports and they are so cool to see in person. We watched free style motor cross, BMX park, and Skate park. This was our second year going to the Dew Tour we had a lot of fun. That night Greg took me out to Takashi for dinner. They serve sushi, the new love of my life. I seriously crave it ALL THE TIME. Sunday we didn’t do too much, we went to brunch at the Little America and to Barnes and Noble to hangout. That night we went to dinner at Christopher’s steak house it was really good. You’re probably starting to see a theme to the weekend, eat, eat, eat, and eat some more. On Monday Greg ended up running into work, because of the Merrill Lynch/Bank of America merger. I stayed and slept at the hotel and went and got coffee (from my other love, Starbucks). Monday afternoon we went to a movie and then we went home. I really enjoyed the weekend and I love being with Greg - I get to hang out with my best friend everyday. I know it sounds corny but it’s the truth.

Dew Tour 2008

Greg first took me to the festival when we were dating; and now it's a tradition. It is probably one of my favorite things that Greg introduced me to. The festival is held at the Greek Orthodox Church downtown. This is the church Greg went to when he was growing up. I love going and seeing the different culture and the food is amazing. I love Greek food and I always eat way too much. If you ever go make sure you stop and go in the Holy Trinity Cathedral. It’s beautiful inside; they have a lot of old stain glass windows.

Tea Time!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SMCqK1-8e-I/AAAAAAAAAEs/LLBCYASKwGA/s320/Tea-service-mystic%5B1%5D.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242377069525760994" />
So yesterday the boss (my Mom) and I went out to celebrate our last days-of-summer before we go back to teaching. We went to the Grand America for afternoon tea. This has kinda become an addiction for us. We go there almost once a month and are always making up reasons to go: company Christmas party, my birthday, her birthday, Halloween…… you get the point. If you haven't ever been then you should definitely go, it's a lot of fun. You get to choose your tea, or other beverage if you don’t drink tea; I always get the Holiday tea, it's my favorite. Then, they bring you a scone and finger sandwiches! They finish it off with deserts that are so good. So, even though our summer is over, I am so happy that I get to go back to work with my Mom she makes teaching so much fun!

Season Premieres

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SL68xHT5XAI/AAAAAAAAAEc/241Mc_JuzRA/s320/images%5B2%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241834568267947010" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SL68xeiyxUI/AAAAAAAAAEk/hRb2zdeHHWU/s320/one+tree+hill.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241834574504445250" />
I am so glad that all of my favorite shows are coming back. I thought I was going to die of boredom. I consider them some of my closest friends. When your husband goes to school for six years and you are home alone every night you find ways to fill the time, that’s how me and my shows became so close. :) So anyways I am in love with Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. I was so excited to watch them on Monday night. The new seasons are going to be so goooooooood. I now I sound like I am still in high school, but I don’t care; growing up is overrated. Oh yeah and by the way I also recorded the new 90210.

My New Addiction

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hd6rWzcoa68/SLStov2Jw2I/AAAAAAAAAEU/GbicfyEmTLw/s320/main_otter.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239003182088700770" />
So over the summer I have fell in love all over again with Otter Pops!
Greg and I eat them all the time. We took Lola with us; it was her first vacation. She did really good riding in the motor home as long as she got plenty of attention. This year we went to three places, the first was Bryce Canyon – it was really nice the weather was surprisingly not too hot. This trip was fun because Greg has never been to any of these places, so we had a really good time. After Bryce, we went to the North rim of the Grand Canyon. It was really amazing; it’s crazy how big it is. We went on a mule ride down the canyon. The mules like to walk the outside of the trails so it can be a little scary at times. The last place we went was Zion’s national Park. It was soooooo hot when we got there. We hiked a trail called Angels Landing and I thought I was going to die, it was so hot outside. Greg and I also got a great idea to go tubing down the Virgin River, it was a two hour tube ride and because the water was so low I think our butts hit like every rock – we laughed the whole way down. Oh yeah, I also flipped over and lost my tube at one point, leave it to me to fall in the water. Sorry I put so many pictures in the slide show I just couldn't’t decide.

Summer vacation to Bruce Canyon, The Grande Canyon, and Zion’s National Park

So we just finished watching season 3 of Weeds, the television show on Showtime. I Love this show, it is so funny. Because we don't get showtime I have to wait until the season comes out on DVD. I know it sucks to wait, but at least I get to watch all of the episodes at one time so that's a bonus! The show is about a mother who becomes a widow and to keep living the same lifestyle she has to get a job. So she starts selling weed. I know it sounds kinda stupid but I think it's hilarious. You will have to check it out for yourself.

My crazy summer

Sorry I haven't posted anything in forever, I have been very busy. You would think since I don't work in the summer that it would be all fun and games and hang'n by the pool or something. That's not how it works, I think I have been more busy during the summer then when I am teaching. Greg's sister, Jamie, got married on July 11th - and I guess you could say I was the wedding planner.
